Black Friday 2026: The Ultimate Marketing Guide for Fitness Studios

boutique fitness intro

Studio owners remember who's training for a half marathon, whose knee is acting up, and who always grabs the corner spot. Then Black Friday rolls around, and suddenly you're blasting the same "25% OFF!" graphic at everyone as if you've never met them before.

In the profit guide, we covered how to choose your format, set your goal, and build offers that make money (start there!). Now let's get those offers in front of the right people, based on current buyer trends in 2026.

Your biggest advantage this year is the relationships you already have. Social media's share of online holiday revenue grew 40% in 2025, but it still drove less than 5% of sales. Most of your Black Friday revenue will come from people who already know you: current clients, former clients, and warm leads. So let's get in front of them.

The Limitless Signature: Build Your VIP List

Your VIP list is where your sale actually starts. Shoppers are happy to trade their info for a deal: 66% say they regularly give their contact information to get a holiday discount. Ideally, your list opens today. (If it hasn't, let’s get going!) And keep it growing until Deal Week starts.

Give them a reason to join. VIP access should feel exclusive and worth acting on:

  • First access to every deal on Sunday, November 22, one day before the public sale

  • An exclusive VIP gift with a qualifying purchase (grip socks, a branded tumbler, or a guest pass all work)

Build your list two ways.

  • Self opt-in: a website pop-up or landing page, social posts and Stories, email invites, and an in-studio sign-up sheet or QR code.

  • Studio-identified VIPs: the people you hand-pick. Former clients, unconverted intros, warm leads and your waitlist, and current members with upgrade potential.

Turn VIP access into sales. Personally invite your warmest prospects with a quick text or video, and give VIPs a reason to buy before the public sale begins. Something like:

"Hi (First Name)! I'm popping into your inbox to give you first dibs on this year's Black Friday deal before it goes public. I know you're a class pack regular, and we're only offering 10. Want me to save one for you?"

Remember that sales number from the profit guide? If you need 50 sales, your hand-picked VIP list should have well over 50 names. Mass promotional emails convert at a fraction of a percent, while personal invites convert far better. Yes, it's a lot of work upfront, but every year studio owners tell me it's where most of their sales come from. So put your effort where your return is.

Email: Turn Interest Into Sales

Email still does the heavy lifting for Black Friday. Make every send count with these four strategies:

  1. Segment your audience. Send offers that match what each group wants, so more people on your existing list become buyers.

  2. Sell the benefit. Give clients a reason to want the offer. "6 weeks of feeling stronger than you thought possible" lands harder than "6 weeks unlimited, $199."

  3. Plan the full sequence. Map out every email ahead of time so you have multiple chances to make a sale without chasing new leads.

  4. Make buying easy. Every email gets one clear button that goes straight to checkout, so you don't lose people between opening your email and paying.

Then track clicks, purchases, and revenue for each email. Opens are nice. Sales pay the bills. Most importantly, save all your hard work in a folder in your CRM, so you're not starting from scratch next year.

Same Offer, Different Message

Your clients have different reasons to buy, so speak to each group. Here's how one offer (Buy 10 Classes, Get 3 Free) changes by audience:

  • Current members: segment them out. Skip the discounted class pack for active members. Send them their own exclusive bonus, upgrade, or perk instead.

  • Class pack clients: make consistency easier. "You already love coming to class. Keep that momentum going with 3 bonus classes when you buy your 10-pack."

  • Former clients: make coming back feel easy. "Ready to get back to feeling strong and making time for yourself? Your favorite classes are waiting, and this Black Friday you get 13 classes for the price of 10."

  • Leads and unconverted intros: give them a reason to start. "You've been thinking about trying us. Here's a little extra motivation: three bonus classes when you buy a 10-pack."

Social Media: Turn Attention Into Sales

Treat social as the warm-up act for your email. Its job is to make people care about your offers before they hit the inbox.

Warm up your audience.

  • Start posting in early November, so your pages feel familiar before every retailer floods the feed.

  • Use countdowns and reminders to get followers onto your VIP list. It's much easier to sell to someone who opted in.

  • Keep your offers visible all week with Stories, pinned posts, and daily reminders.

Show them why they want it.

  • Use testimonials, client stories, and real studio moments to make the benefits feel tangible.

  • Answer the common hesitations (price, timing, commitment, "will I actually use it?") in short Reels.

Make it easy to take action.

  • Give every post one clear call to action: join the VIP list, view the deals, or buy.

  • Use direct links, Story link stickers, and automated DMs so buying takes a tap or two.

  • If you use ManyChat, set up a keyword (like "DEALS") that sends people straight to your Deal Week page.

Keep mixing in your regular educational and community content, too. A feed that's 100% sales posts gets scrolled past, even during Black Friday.

Marketing Beyond Social

Your next sale is already walking through your doors, so run your campaign inside the studio, too.

Make your offers visible.

  • Put up front-desk signage, mirror decals, and QR codes that link to your VIP sign-up.

  • Display your offers and prices before Deal Week so clients can plan their purchases.

  • Use your windows and storefront. They're billboards you're already paying for.

Activate your members.

  • Bring-a-friend giveaway: reward members who introduce a friend to your studio.

  • Punch card challenge: reward pre-Black Friday attendance with stamps toward a VIP bonus.

  • Themed classes: host a Black Friday Warm-Up or a Gratitude Flow to build excitement and grow your VIP list.
